Mike & Mike -- what a great name for your blog.

Re: Johnny Podres, former Phillies pitching coach, dies.

Funny to see that headline knowing Podres as the great Dodger pitcher. described as the "Phillies pitching coach."

Whaddaya trying to do Mikes, change baseball history???

George:

My father grew up in Brooklyn and remained a Dodgers fan as an adult (and after their move west). And he did not discourage my interest in the Phillies, which led to some real fun in the late 1970s.

He also told me about how good a pitcher Pods was, among other players of that era. But with that said, and considering this is a Phillies blog, we hope you'll forgive us the cliff notes headline.
